A Couple of New Cards.

Hello to all my lovely blog friends.

The morning has slipped away somewhere but will make an attempt to add this now. The older one gets the longer it takes to get things done - maybe if I got out of bed a bit earlier it would help but my lovely daughter tells me that I should not feel guilty having a little sleep in, at my time of life and I certainly take her advise! It has been rather busy over the past weeks so it has all caught up with me. Last Thursday, our Patchwork group went on a mystery bus trip, ending up at Darfield. It was a lovely day altogether, meeting up with the craft group up there for morning tea, and filling up the day with lots of interesting events and of course, being with some wonderful company.

Now, to share what I have been up to recently.

This card is called a Peek-a-Boo card and a tutorial can be found on Splitcoaststampers site. I have used the lovely Couture Creations Papers called Hearts Ease and as I've said before I love it. The die that has been used is a Spellbinders Labels 20, the sentiment and the image were found on Pinterest. It is a fun card to make and usually gets a few Wow's.

For this card I have again used " my favourite at the moment die ". Spellbinders Oval Regalia, S4-492. The papers are from Paper Arts and they are gorgeous. A big thanks goes to Patsy. They are New Zealand made papers and she has a huge selection. So looking forward to catching up with her at SENZ and viewing her new collections.

Well, that's it today ladies. Must go and catch up after my late start.

Happy crafting to you all and many blessings,

Betsy  xxx

Sympathy Cards

Another lovely morning in South Canterbury ladies - do hope you are all enjoying a similar day.

A fabulous time was had at Patchwork Camp this past weekend. I managed to get my jacket fairly well together but ran out of material for the final completion. Will show case it when finished. I am rather pleased with the progress, so far. Also put together an emergency quilt which we do to give out to people who are in need, around the area. A lovely group of friends and a great weekend altogether.

This morning I thought I would share some sympathy cards which I have made. There seems to be a need for them at the moment - does ones age have anything to do with it, I wonder!!

Recently I purchased a Minc Foiling Machine and what fun I have with it. This design was printed off from Pinterest using a laser printer and then put through the machine to foil. It doesn't show up too well in the photo but the effect is gorgeous. Take my word for it ladies! I have used a teal foil.

I do love this embossing folder from Couture Creations called Tied Together, CO724399. The rose is a Stampendous Stamp and Dies set, coloured with Kaiserfusion Alcohol Pens. CRS55084 for the stamp and DC55084 for the Die Cut. The borders have been cut using Spellbinders A2 Scallop Borders One. S5182.

This is the die everyone is talking about at the moment - it came out with a magazine some months ago. Having lost the packaging I cannot tell you the name etc but I do hear it is to be included as a freebee with an upcoming Australian Simply Cards Magazine. Keep your eyes open ladies. It is a stunning embossing folder.

The embossing folder used for this card was also another freebee from the Australian Simply Cards Magazine. The frame for the sentiment is Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares and the leaves were cut using the Couture Creations Evergreen Die, CO724096.

Thanks for stopping by - I so appreciated you all. Happy crafting and many blessings for another week,

Shared Group Cards

A very good morning to all my blog friends.

Well, what an amazing weekend we have enjoyed at our craft camp, meeting up with old friends and making some lovely new ones. A special thanks goes to Liz again for organizing such a great weekend, and a special mention goes to Cheryl and Megan for all the ideas etc that we were taught and enjoyed. It always amazes me at how so many like minded ladies can get together, from all over the country and how much fun can be had.

Now, even though I am suffering from a nasty head cold ( one would almost call it a MAN'S one! ) I am going to share a couple of cards that I taught with a lovely group at Temuka last week. The first one is a rather fancy one but as there were a few men in attendance, I thought I would do a plainer one as well. One can never have too many sympathy cards around, can they?

I have made this card using one of Prima's gorgeous collections called, Tales of You & Me. I did a little bit of fussy cutting as you will notice, the die is Spellbinder's Floral Ovals and the picture is part of the papers, also the flowers etc are Prima. It is a 5 1/4" square card.

A simple card for this one. Firstly, I put some white card through the big shot with an embossing folder, layered it onto teal card then mounted it onto the main card. For the border I used Martha Stewart's Double Loop Punch and added a strip of pearls. The frame was cut using Spellbinder's Opulent Ovals and one of my favourite sympathy stamps to stamp the message, plus some Kaiser flowers. The group seemed to appreciate the show thankfully and were very taken with the Cuttlebug!

Believe it or not ladies, I have left my bed all made up at Stavely, for my next camp which is this coming weekend. As it is a patchwork camp, I have to put on my other cap, enjoy another group of fabulous friends and change my thinking and working mode! No hardship there, as I do love it, patchwork that is.

Must carry on with the good work, so until next week, happy crafting to you all and many blessings.
